The most boring entry ever in the history of boring entries

Posting a daily blog is good and all, except for those times where I don't have anything to say.  Most would find that shocking, especially Verizon, who see my shocking texting and phone minutes on a daily basis, but it's true.  I really can't think of an interesting thing to talk about.  Not one.  I am not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing.  Good, because that means nothing noteworthy happened, and bad because...well, nothing noteworthy happened.  LOL

Today went well again, I ate exactly what I planned eating, making good nutritious choices.  I want to make sure that most of what I put into my body has a purpose, nutritional value, not just junk.  So, all in all, it was a good day.  The thing that I HAVE to improve on tomorrow is the exercise.  I need to do an hour on the elliptical at least.  Today I didn't work out at all, which is BAD.  I am in such a good mood this week, and it's one of those weeks where everything is just going right.  I'm not sure that it's my attitude that's making my week great, my good week, making my attitude great.  Either way, I am not going to question it, I am just going to roll with it.

I hate to post such a lame entry, but I guess the important thing is that I posted something.  Important to me, not to anyone else.  LOL  I hope everyone has a great night, and hopefully tomorrow I will be much more interesting...maybe.  :)

Feeling pretty

Great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Ok, perhaps I am a little too excited, but I can't help it.  Today started out like any regular day, and today was pretty laid back at the office. There was lots of laughing, not a ton going on, and no one was really acting like a total asshat, which is always a good thing.  I stuck to my plan and ate balanced meals, and felt really good.

Then this afternoon I got a call from the bridal shop that my bridesmaid's dress was in, so I went and picked it up after work, and OMG it is even bigger than it was 2 weeks ago!!!!!!!!  I know this sounds kind of silly, but I actually almost felt kind of pretty in the dress.  I mean it is gorgeous, I mean not on me, but just in general.  I know that I am way harder on myself than I should be, but it's hard to let it go.  It's hard to believe in myself.  I always feel like everyone else is better than me, prettier than me, thinner than me, smarter than me, everything, and I can't ever stop worrying about it.  I know I shouldn't tell myself this stuff, but I can't help truly believing it.  I feel like I go through life apologizing for being me.  Wow this is sounding like a total debbie downer of a post, but I'm actually in a super fantastic mood.  I guess I am just getting all of this out to show you how good this dress makes me feel.  I hate feeling ugly, but I can't get past it.  This bridesmaids dress is so gorgeous though, and when i pulled it on tonight, yes pulled it on, no unzipping or anything, I actually kind of felt pretty.  This is HUGE for me, and I'm not talking about the dress size.  LOL

I know I need to work on feeling better about myself, but tonight, I feel really good.  I know that I am making progress, and I will do this.  I will learn to love myself, I have to.  I know loving myself isn't and can't be all about the weight, but I feel like it has to help.  I will get there, and I am just going to take it one day at a time and enjoy these small victories that I do have.  Notice I said enjoy the small victories, not enjoy food to celebrate the small victories.  ahahaha Lesson learned, believe me.

Oh, and on a weight loss front, remember I owned up to gaining 4 pounds last week when I had my weigh in Sunday?  Well this morning with wet hair, I already lost it, so I must have been retaining some serious water.  LOL  So, this week is off to a great start.  I am more focused on my goals than ever before!  I hope everyone has a great night!

Blame it on c-c-c-c-c-carrots

Thanks for listening to my vent yesterday, I needed to get that all out of my system.  I was so mad at myself for giving in.  I did not plan a binge or a cheat day, I just gave in this past weekend, and believe me, I have learned my lesson.  My next official weigh in is obviously not until next Sunday, but today I did take a sneak peak this morning, because I can't seem to stay away, and I was down 2 pounds, so now I am just up 2 pounds.  Hopefully the pounds will just fly off this week, and my damage will have been minimal.

So, this morning, I was so pumped and I did follow through and stick to my plan.  Not only did I stay under my calorie allotment, I also  made good choices.  I ate vitamin rich foods that my body needed, and it makes a world of a difference.

This is totally off of the subject, but I got super cute glasses tonight too, so it's been a pretty fab day.  The funny thing is I NEVER wear glasses, because I don't like they way they look, and I wear my contacts all of the time.  Well I had my eye exam today, and my vision has actually improved, and I no longer have an astigmatism, how weird.  LOL  So,needless to say, I needed to get a new pair of glasses, and I got two new cute funky pairs, that I really like.  Now I won't ever really wear them except on a rare occasion, but they are still super cute.  LOL  I would like to think that the improved vision was all because of my diet changes, and eating carrots, but I realize that's not true.  Now it's time for sleeeeeeeeeeep!
I hope everyone has a great night, and thanks again for your support!

Tubthumping

I get knocked down, but I get up again...

Well, as embarrassing as it is, I am coming here to confess.   I hate coming here to say this, because it shows weakness.  Weakness, that I didn't do what I set out to do, that I didn't hold up my end of the deal., that I didn't follow my own advice, and that I went against my better judgment and messed up.  The old me would have said that this was failure.  I would have said "oh well, I failed, so I might as well just give up, because let's face it, you can't do it."  I know that's simply not true.  The truth of the matter is, that this is life and no one is perfect.  It's silly to not come here, because I feared letting others down or getting yelled at.  It's silly, because the only person it's hurting is me.

Posting here keeps me honest, and it doesn't make the situation any better to run from it.  I could sit here all day and post excuses as to why I overate this weekend, but there are no excuses.  Life is always going to make things challenging, and it's not an excuse.  Life happens.  I didn't go completely crazy this weekend, but I did indulge in pizza night, dessert here and there, and just unbalanced eating.  No excuses.  This can't happen, because it sends me into a downward spiral.  It doesn't do an once of good for me to do a great job, lose 19 pounds, and then go and gain some of it back.  I was hoping to hit over 20 pounds lost this week, but instead I fell apart and overate.  Where did that get me?  Up 4 pounds, yes 4 whole pounds.  Yes, I realize I could be retaining water and what not, but I don't care.  It is ridiculous.  Absolutely ridiculous, that I would work that hard to drop the pounds, and throw it away in one week.  Stupid!

Quitting hasn't even entered my brain, and won't enter it EVER, but I did consider not posting it out of fear.  Silliness.  Fear is what got me here in the first place.  Fear and laziness.  I know how to do it, I simply have to burn more calories than I take in.  So simple.  No excuses.  None.  I am upset with myself, but all of this will be for nothing if I continue destructive behavior.  I have to be hard on myself.  I owe it to myself to be frustrated.  In reality, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of me, I wish I believed that, because the only person I am ultimately hurting is myself.

This honesty goes hand in hand with another thing, forgiveness.  I have to forgive myself and move on.  It's not going to do me any good to bash myself, and whine about it.  I have to DO something about it.  Prove that I can do this, because I can.  In the grand scheme of things, if I learn from this and move on, this is a total minor setback.  The key word there is "learn."  I can't continue to repeat these behaviors or I will gain this weight back in a matter of a few weeks.  I WON"T let that happen.

Eating poorly this weekend has reminded me of how bad food can make you feel.  Eating food that lacks any nutritional content is pointless, and it makes me feel like crap.  It makes me feel sluggish, which in turn starts this nasty cycle that I'm trying to break.  It's silly to reward myself with a punishment.

The truth of the matter is, it doesn't matter how hard it is to resist the "bad stuff", it's so much harder living with the "bad choices."  Confidence, being healthy, looking hot, feeling sexy, having fun, are WAAAAAAAY more rewarding than a stupid pizza.

This whole entry is just a bunch of words.  It all sounds great, but I have to DO IT.  It's time that I make some commitments and follow through.  This is so simple, and I can do it.  I will do this.

Now, I am going to go get some sleep, so I can get up bright and early, workout, eat a healthy breakfast, work, and just make tomorrow the best day it can be.  I'm going to lose those extra gained pounds this week.  No excuses!  I will be back tomorrow to post about how awesome my Monday was.  I hope everyone has a great week!

Pain pain go away...

Ugh, today I still feel awful.  I mean I know it's only been a few days, but how long will it take to not feel like I have been hit by a truck?  LOL  It hurts to walk, move, lay down or do just about anything.  I think I am just in a whiny horrible mood because I hurt, my husband is out of town on business, and on top of it all have horrible cramps.  It's just not my week.  So no exercise again today, and again tonight, I can't even bring myself to think about dinner, I just don't feel like it.  The thought of any food even my favs totally repulses me.  I just want to curl up in bed and cry, only that would hurt.  LOL  See I'm being totally dramatic, but OMG this sucks.  Hopefully everyone else is having a better night!

ZZZ

Hey everyone, I am  just signing on to actually create a blog entry for the day.  I am still super sore from the accident, so no working out, but I only managed to eat 900 calories for the day.  I know that's not necessarily a good thing, but it's how it worked out.  I am sooooooooooooooooooooo sleepy right now, I can hardly stand it so I need to get some sleep.  I hope everyone had a great day!

Say yes to the dress

So, anyone who read my post back in July knows that I had a major melt down in the bridal store trying on bridesmaids dresses for my bff's wedding.  The dress in the store didn't fit, and I was mortified.  I think that was around July 24 or so.  The I told the bridal consultant to order a few sizes smaller, but she was so insistent that I not order so small.  I mean I know they must hear that all of the time that someone will lose weight so order smaller, and when the time comes, it never happens.  So, I didn't order that much smaller, because I got scared that I might not, and they assured me the dress could be altered. My dress is due to come in the second week of October.

Well last weekend my bff and I were in the area, and I  wanted to go in just to see how close the dress was to fitting.  I was so scared that it was still going to be too small, but I decided to just do it.  She pulled the exact same dress in the same size as before and i nervously walked into the dressing room.  For some reason i didn't unzip the dress, I just stepped into it, and pulled it up.  The dress didn't fit...it was too big!!!!!!!!!!!  I couldn't believe it.  Going from too small to too big, in a matter of 7 weeks!  The wedding isn't until 1/1/10, so I hope to lose quite a bit more by then.  It is so exciting to see progress!
